Berna Serna Romero September 9, 1959 ~ June 23, 2018 Welcome Home My Child Your work on earth has been well done. It is with profound sadness that the Romero Family announce the passing of their beloved Berna Serna Romero, a beautiful wife, mother and grandmother and sister; who went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2018 at her residence in Denver, Colo., surrounded by her loving family. Berna was born into this life on Sept. 9, 1959 in Mora, New Mexico to her parents Ernesto and Rosita Serna, she was the eighth of nine children born to this union. She attended high school in Mora. She was an artist and enjoyed glass art and jewelry. She will be remembered for her many talents. She was also an antique dealer. She was very creative, enormously generous, kind and smart. She was a spiritual inspiration and a fighter, who was defined by her extraordinary faith, heart for service, and love of her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernesto and Rosita Serna; brothers, Belarmino and Ernest Serna, Jr; grandparents Moises and Pirilia Pacheco and Florencio and Pabilita Serna and nephews James Serna, Jeremy Serna and Dominic Serna. Those who will continue to cherish her loving memory are her beloved husband, Edward Raymond Romero; children Tasha and Steve Gonzales, Ronald and Kristin Lovato, Ray and Christina Romero and Daniel Romero; motherin-law Nora Romero; grandchildren Dustin, Cory, Samantha, Nate and Luke; brothers Roy and Martha Serna, Albert and Arlene Serna, Andrew and Traci Serna; Sisters Theresa and Chris Madril, Annabelle and LeRoy Vigil, Grace and Rudy Gallegos; sistersin-law Rosie Serna and Judy Serna, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends. A memorial service will be Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 7 p.m., at the Romero Chapel Aurora, 15150 E. Iliff Avenue, Aurora, Colo. Honorary urn bearers will be Dustin Romero, Cory Romero, Nate Conley, Samantha Gonzales and Luke Lovato. A Mora memorial service will be held Friday July 6, 2018, 10 a.m., at Mora Valley Baptist Church, Cleveland, N.M., with burial to follow at Santo Nio Cemetery.
