Berniece Irene (Vigil) Padilla “A Mother holds her children’s hands for a short while; but their hearts forever.” Berniece Irene Padilla passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2024, in Denver, Colorado at the age of 97. Our beloved mother, daughter, sister, wife, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother was born on September 8th, 1926, in Grand Junction, Colorado. She was a wise, loyal, and fiercely protective individual, especially when it came to her family and privacy. She is survived by her daughter Anita Padilla, her sons Richard, Roger, and James Padilla along with 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. Berniece was preceded in death by her mother Mary Vigil, her father Moises Montes-Vigil, husband Joseph Richard Padilla, son Theodore E. Padilla, grandson Theodore R. Padilla, brothers Herman, Ernest, Bill, James, and sister Juanita Vigil. A rosary and funeral service in memory of Berniece Padilla will be held at Romero’s Funeral home in Denver, Colorado at 4750 Tejon St. February 27th from 11am to 1pm. Internment to be held at 2:30pm at Ft. Logan Cemetery. May her soul rest in peace.
