Betty Jane Grebe

Betty Jane Grebe, 69, of Longmont Colorado, died peacefully on April 29, 2017 at Longmont United Hospital.� Betty Grebe grew up in Loveland, CO with her twin sister, Bonnie and her older brother, Bill.��She was always eager to learn and try new things.��Betty and her sister loved riding horses and they were members of the Loveland Sweetheart Riders.��She had many adventures her cousins, Stan and Vicky.��She was a cheer leader and sang in the choir for St. John�s Catholic school in Loveland.��The nuns taught her how to play poker and it was the recess activity for rainy and snowy days.� She graduated with honors from CU Boulder with a degree in English.��She spent her career working at CU in the library.��She was an avid reader of nonfiction and spiritual books; she was always interested in learning new things.��She liked to go on early morning/middle of the night hikes at Chautauqua and would take pictures of the sunrise.��She loved outdoor worship.��She was very creative and enjoyed art, photography, sculpture, sewing, crocheting and music.��Later in life, she learned how to play the accordion and she was a Ham radio operator.��� She loved helping others and was active in many community organizations.��She was active with the Mental Health Center of Boulder with their anti-stigma community projects and gave numerous talks.��She was once featured on 9 News for her work in this area.��She was a Stephen Minister until her health made it too difficult.��She has active in AA and this past January, she celebrated 25 years of sobriety.��� Family was very important to Betty.��She loved spending time with her grandchildren doing crafts, helping them with spelling, camping, going to the grandchildren�s theatrical performances and watching ONCE.���Her family was blessed to have been able to spend so much time with her and she will be greatly missed.
