Betty J. [Carr] Hughes, a resident of North Port, FL, died in the arms of her Lord on February 9, 2016. She was born in Luzerne, PA, the daughter of John and Dora [Stoneham] Carr. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Richard W. Hughes; brothers, William and Norman Carr; and sister, Dorothy Thomas. She is survived by her loving children, Karen J. Hughes and Richard L. (Michele) Hughes, both of North Port, FL; grandchildren, Janet Brady and Jeffrey Brady; six great grandchildren, Hallie, Lily, Christian, Hannah, Emily, and Frankie; sister-in-law Violetta Carr; and five nieces and nephews. She was a bookkeeper most of her life. She attended the Harpursville, NY and Ormond Beach, FL churches and was a member of the Debows United Methodist Church of Jackson, NJ. Arrangements are being handled by Farley Funeral Homes & Crematory. There will be no calling hours at her request. Anyone wishing to make remembrances please choose your favorite Humane Society.
