Betty O’Connor, 84, of Winter Haven, FL passed away on July 7, 2023. She was born on April 10, 1939, in Conicville, VA to Earl and Martha Moomaw Smootz, and moved to Florida from Maryland in 1993. Betty was retired after working 26 years for American Trucking Association and a member of First Baptist Church of Lucerne Park. She loved to go to the movies, and she made sure to read her Bible every day. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Larry O’Connor and sister, Nancy. Betty is survived by her son, Mike (Elaine) O’Connor of Winter Haven, FL; siblings, Patsy (Arthur), Sharon, Rick (Dee), Earl, Jr. (Helen), Terry (Brenda), Mary (Mike) as well as grandson, JR and great grandson, Trent Lee, both of Wellington, FL. A visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 pm and on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, from 10 am until the funeral at 11 am, all at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, FL. Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Lucerne Park 5650 FL-544, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
