Bevline Dorsey Lowder, 87, of Hanahan SC passed away on March 4, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1005 Asbury Dr., Columbia, SC 29209. Pastor Steve McCormick will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Following the graveside services the family will receive guests in the church Social Hall. The family is being assisted by Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209. Born in Albemarle NC, she was the daughter of the late, Ira W. and Louise H. Stogner. She attended Albemarle Schools and graduated from the Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing in 1949. She worked several years as a pediatric nurse until she married her husband of 41 years. A member of Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, she was very active in the church serving on many boards and committees, teaching Adult Sunday school and participating in the United Methodist Women. A devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, she took great pride in her family. Bevline was predeceased by her husband, Everett "Red" Robert Lowder. She is survived by a daughter; Crystal L. Gray (Ken) of Hanahan, SC, sons; Everett R. Lowder, Jr. (Kay) of Columbia, SC and David A. Lowder, (Becky) of Statesboro, GA. She also leaves behind grandchildren; Christopher Lowder (Sara) of Bozeman, MT, Preston Garrison of Columbia, SC, Tiffany Gray, of Eustis, FL, Timothy Lowder, of Statesboro GA, Robert Lowder of Columbia, SC and Emily Garrison, of Hanahan SC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Asbury Memorial United Methodist Church, 1005 Asbury Dr. Columbia, SC 29209, or to, Heartland Hospice Services of Charleston, 1064 Gardner Rd, #204, Charleston SC 29407, or at http://www.heartlandhospice.com.
