IN LOVING MEMORY OF BILLA GOMEZ On Saturday, June 10, 2023, Billa Torres Gomez passed away at the age of 88 years old in Denver, Colorado. She was the devoted wife of Charles Perez Gomez, a loving mother of 3 children, grandmother of 6, great-grandmother of 2, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend to many who knew and loved her. Billa was born on July 15, 1934, in Berclair, TX, and was the daughter of Abraham Torres and Josefa Ortiz Torres. She had 3 children with Charles Gomez, which were two sons, Joey and Charley Jr. Gomez, and 1 daughter Cynthia Gomez Davis. Billa was as unique as her name, she was a very kind, soft-spoken gentle soul, a truly personable person that was easy to get along with anyone she came in contact with. At the age of 3 years old, Billa moved with her parents from Berclair, TX, and grew up in Gill, Colorado, and then later moved to Denver, Colorado, where resided until her recent passing. When she arrived in Gill, she met Charles Gomez at the very young age of 3 years old as his next-door neighbor in Gill and later married him at age 22, celebrating 67 years of marriage together-they literally abided by the Bible verse to "Love Thy Neighbor". Billa was a full-time skilled homemaker and loving mother, having a passion for cooking, sewing, child-care, beautifully decorating her homes, entertaining guests, family, and friends, and she loved attending church, praying, reading books and her Bible, as well as her love for and personal relationship she had with the Lord Jesus Christ. Her favorite colors were pink, purple, and blue. She was also always well-dressed, taking pride in her appearance. When she was younger, she played the piano by ear and sheet music and was in a Spanish youth church band. She passed on this love and talent for music to all her children and even her grandchildren. When you walked into her home, you would either find her cooking, cleaning, talking on the phone, visiting with someone, or helping someone in need. If she wasn't inside her home, you could always find her in her church every Sunday and at any church event, or with her husband or daughter going to her favorite stores the Dollar Tree, Big Lots, JC Penney, Costco, and King Soopers, or spending quality time with friends, or with her beloved sisters celebrating one another's birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, and many parties in general. Billa was the oldest of all her 15 siblings and her surviving siblings are Abel, Irene, Raul, Noehmi, Debbie, and Mary. She was preceded in death by her father Abraham Torres, mother Josefa Ortiz Torres, brothers Jeremiah, Silas, Steven, Samuel, Daniel, Ernie and sisters Lydia Torres, and Lia Torres Farias, including great grand-daughter Keara Erin Rose Davis. She is survived by her loving husband and best friend Charles P. Gomez, and by her 3 children Joey (Joe) Lee Gomez, Charley John Gomez, and Cynthia Ann (Gomez) Davis; including 6 grandchildren (in age order) Gabriel Gomez, Aaron Gomez, David Gomez, Caleb Davis, Amanda Davis, and Zachary Gomez, including her great-grandchildren Olivia Gomez, Orion-Yui Beggs-Davis, Aeries Beggs-Davis, Aurora Beggs-Davis. Dearest Billa, we love you and you will always have a special place in all our hearts that knew and loved you, and you will forever be missed until we meet again in Heaven!
