Bishop Preston Lee Blackwell, Sr.

Bishop Preston Lee Blackwell Sr., 61, of Ocala went to be with Jesus Christ on Friday, May 11, 2018 in Ocala. He was surrounded by his wife, and two children. Bishop Blackwell married his best friend of 20 years, Nicole. Bishop Blackwell was the senior pastor of House of Restoration, True Harvest Ministries, and currently Mountain Teaching Ministries. A graduate of PCH, and also a member of the football team, #61. He went on to study at Liberty University with a degree in Religion. Bishop was a very wise man with a strong love for Christ. He is known for his knowledge and foundation of the Bible, his ability to love his children well, his love for cooking, and his strong affection for his wife, Nicole. Preston Lee Blackwell was a native of Valhalla, New York and moved to Florida in 2014. Survivors include loving wife Nicole Gentles-Blackwell, amazing children, Cecilia Cooper (Daughter), John Medeiros (Son), Preston Blackwell Jr. (Son), Aaliyah Gentles (Daughter). Siblings are Fred Blackwell (Brother), Jerry Blackwell (Brother), and Barbara Jones (Sister). Predeceased by Jason Blackwell (Son), also predeceased by Ogretta Logan (mother). He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 25th, 11am at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Ocala, 910 SE Silver Springs Blvd, Ocala, FL, 34470. Burial will proceed following the service with full military honors at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. A visitation will be held same day from 9am to service time at 11am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mountain Teaching Ministries, 401 NW 3rd Ave. Ocala, FL. 34475, founded by the deceased, Mr. Blackwell.
