Bonnie Niccoli Summerlin

Bonnie Niccoli Summerlin was a vivacious woman; a total hoot! She brought laughter, joy, and excitement to friends and loved ones, and was always up for an adventure. She was known for her great laugh, kind heart, fabulous fashion, and zest for living. She was born April 1, 1925, and went on to her next great journey shortly before her 95th birthday after a full and remarkable life. Bonnie met her husband, Tony, shortly after he returned from WW2, and they moved to Trinidad, Colorado and had three children: Tony, Allen, and Maria. The family settled in Pueblo, Colorado amongst friends and loved ones. Once their children were in school, Bonnie dedicated her evenings to becoming a nurse to pursue a career of her own. A few years after the death of her first husband, Tony, Bonnie moved to California and happily continued her rewarding career in nursing. She later married a man named Bill and started her own business, Bonnie's Dry Cleaners. Her impressive work ethic made her business fruitful and successful. Then, years later after Bill's passing, she married Johnny and had a wonderful time blending her adult family with his. They lived together in Southern California, and Bonnie sold her business and went back to her love of nursing. She was able to retire several years before Johnny passed away and they enjoyed traveling and entertaining together. They loved hosting the family for holidays, and everyone was treated to Bonnie's famous fudge and her old-fashioned Southern Biscuits and Gravy. She loved to transform her home each season, decorating beautifully to welcome everyone. Right up to the very end of her life, Bonnie loved social outings, especially visiting the pier in San Clemente for her favorite: fish and chips with a cup of hot coffee. She often reminisced about the past and would proudly say that there was nothing more in her life that she wished she had done, and that she felt lucky to have experienced so much. Her youthful exuberance was immediately noticed and enjoyed by everyone around her. She always lit up the room with her southern charm. Bonnie is survived by two of her children, Allen and Ria; and eight grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bonnie's relentless positive outlook, coupled with her fierce determination will remain her legacy to all of those who knew her.
