Brandon Scott Fong Yee
September 20th, 1974 - July 11th, 2016
Brandon Yee was born in Pueblo, Colorado on September 20, 1974, later spending most of his lifetime in Mesa, Arizona where he died on July 11, 2016 after losing a battle with cancer. Brandon graduated from Mesa High School and worked at Mesa Community College his entire career. He began as an aide in the open entry computer lab and worked his way to become a client support analyst in the help center until his death. He assisted both the professors and students with their computer problems, ranging from email access to classroom support for audio-visual services and internet online classes. Brandon treated everyone he met with respect, friendliness, and allowed others to feel good about themselves. No one was afraid to call him for help. Brandon was an avid gamer; as a child many hours were spent at the arcade. His house was the gathering place for the original Nintendo games after school. Although he was not a strong athlete, he loved all sports, especially baseball, basketball, and hockey. Brandon made many friends through online games and his discussions about sports on Facebook. These friendships transcended the physical realm as many of them never met in person. Brandon also was a big Star Trek fan; he liked the original television series along with the new movies. Comicons in different cities were thoroughly enjoyed. Brandon was blessed with a uniqueness that others only hope to achieve. Not only was he kind, creative, intelligent, thoughtful, caring, talented, loyal, and humble, he was true to himself and his beliefs. He was brave and courageous during a difficult battle but always remained strong, not only for himself, but for his family and friends. He left a lasting impact on all he came in contact with and each of us will remember him in different ways. He was able to show us great examples of how we can be a better person. He is our special Angel watching over all of us. Brandon is survived by his mother Jacque Ong Larry Burbine, father Jim Yee Jr. Debbie, brother Brian Yee J'me, stepsisters Tina Burbine, Kelly McAlister Shane, half sisters Stacey Peek Jesse, Rebecca, and half brother Justin Maggie and 8 nieces and nephews, grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to your favorite charity or to Serenity Hospice Foundation, www.serenityhospicefoundation.org or call 602-216-2273.
