Brenda "Kay" Brown

Brenda Kay Brown Oct. 14, 1941 - Sept. 8, 2018 Brenda "Kay" Brown passed away peacefully in her home with her daughters present in Ocala, FL on September 8, 2018. Kay was born October 14, 1941 in Salem, IN, where she was raised, to parents James and Mary Clevenger. She married and had two daughters, Cindy Brown of Ocala, FL and Debra Ritchie of New Port Richey, FL. She retired from Sears after a long-standing dedicated career as a manager in the Human Resources Department at which time, she relocated from Atlanta to Ocala to care for her aging mother. Kay attended Trinity Baptist Church for many years and was an active member of her Sunday school class where she developed and enjoyed many close friendships. Kay took great loving care in her well manicured yard as she enjoyed many hours working and gardening in it. For many years she grew beautiful orchids as a favorite hobby. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and was the heart of the family. Kay delighted in and thoroughly enjoyed all her family celebrations and loved to spoil them with her special homemade recipes. Kay adored her pet dog Spike as he was considered a beloved member of her family and was usually found lying at her feet. Kay is preceded in death by her father James Clevenger, her mother Mary Clevenger, her sisters, Sandra (Sandy) Oller and Deanna (Dee) Whitaker. She is survived by daughters Cindy Brown of Ocala, FL and Debra (Deb) Ritchie, (Bruce) of New Port Richey, FL, brother Larry Clevenger, (Judy) of Ocala, FL, six grandchildren, Brian Murphy, Katherine Brown (Katie), Alan, Elizabeth (Liz), Matthew (Matt), and Lauren Ritchie. Kay was deeply loved and cherished and will be greatly missed by all her loved ones.
