Brent F. Hammond

Brent F. Hammond went to be with our Lord on March 17, 2023. He passed away peacefully at home in Longmont, CO after a battle with cancer. He was a wonderful and caring husband, brother, friend and colleague. Brent was born in Wichita Falls, TX in 1951 and grew up in Aztec, New Mexico. Brent went to college at New Mexico State University and then moved to Boulder, CO in 1982 and worked for an engineering firm for 12 years. In 1986 he met his wife Kathy Hammond and they married in 1988 in Boulder, CO. Fast forward to 1994 when Brent began his own business BF Hammond Electrical Design, LLC. He thoroughly enjoyed working with electricians, architects, contractors, and manufacturers. Brent valued their knowledge and their friendships. Over the years Brent worked not only with these clients but now for their next generation of children. Brent enjoyed his motorcycle (Harley, but always said, two wheels are two wheels!) and being a member of ABATE of Colorado, camping, and looking for bargains at auctions. But most of all he enjoyed fishing, the Broncos, and the over 40 years of friends that met every Thursday late afternoon for a few hours. Brent was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Sibyl Hammond; father, Willis Frank Hammond; and step father Irv Arnold. He is survived by a brother, John Hammond of Madison, AL; his children Johnathan and James and his wife Wendie and children Joshua, Wade, and Arya Jade Hammond). A step brother, Donald Kerr of Oldsman, FL his children Donna Tankersley and her children Chance wife, Callie and five children; Krista, and Sage Tankersley. Nephew Leivan Kerr his children Nathaniel, Tiffiney and Michaela along with their 10 children. Brent did not want to have a Celebration of Life but that everyone should smile, think kindly, and enjoy life. We thank you for all the prayers and to know that Brent and Kathy have had a very blessed life. Brent’s kindness, caring, and love will be greatly missed. He was a big guy with a big heart!
