Romero Funeral Home and Cremations - Denver
Carmen "Bebe" Beall
July 16th, 1927 - October 3rd, 2021
Carmen "Bebe" Juarez Beall was born in Denver on July 16, 1927 to Teresina Gallegos of Aguilar, Colorado and Manuel Juarez of Torreon, Coahuila Mexico. She was delivered at home by Dr Justina Ford, the first African American female doctor in Denver. She had a younger brother Benito Juarez, also of Denver. She was raised in Five Points and attended Cathedral High School and graduated from Manual High School, class of 1944. It was there that she met her husband Levi Julian Beall of Alamosa, Colorado. Levi and Carmen were married in 1951 at Sacred Heart Church and had three children, Richard Levi (Janie Brown), Ronald Franciso (Pilar Vargas Osorio) and Carmen Victoria "Deina" Beall. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, all boys: Brandon, Ronnie, Brian, Omar, Marcus, Julian and Kevin, as well as 8 great grandchildren. Under the Truman Administration, she and Levi accepted a job with Congressman Byron Rogers and moved to Washington DC . They then moved back to Colorado and worked with Paco Sanchez to build a Mexican business community at a time when there were no Spanish speaking businesses. They started the first Spanish Language radio station, KFSC, the GAO Good American Organization Ballroom, the Holiday Theater, and Coronado National Bank among other businesses. They owned and operated Tere's Tacos on 19th and Federal which was famous for their burritos and although many credited Carmen, the recipes came from her mom, Tere. She loved to work and to dance and continued to do both of those things well into her 90s. Cemetery Details Mt.
