Carmen was born from parents Antonia Guadalupe Vigil and Margarito Romero, in San Luis, Colorado. They had 13 children. Three of the children passed away very young. Brothers and sisters who have departed are William Romero, Julian Romero, Armando Romero, Mary Irma Montoya, Louisa Romero and Virginia Gonzalez. Living are Herbert Romero, Paul Romero and Betty Romero. Carmen married Antonio Medina on 02/16/62 in Denver, Colorado. Children are Margaret Romero, Roberta Dominguez, Felix Medina and Lisa Ohrt. Grandchildren are Stephanie Torres, Shanel Dominguez, Dominic Dominguez, Nicole Medina, and Joshua White. Great grandchildren are Isabel Montanez, Ezekiel Dominguez, Carmen Torres, Moses Torres and Nathan Medina. There is a special story on how Carmen was named by her parents. Before Carmen was born, her parents had a boy named Carmelito who was born with a hole in his brain and passed away before he turned one year. Then a little girl was born and they decided to name her Carmen after her brother who they loved. Carmen loved her family so much and touched everyone who came into her life. Carmen was very funny and liked to joke a lot. She was a very strong women who was a great cook and loved to read to her children. Carmen took care of several children (Benjamin Reyes Cordova, Areli Chang, Carolina Alejandra Garcia, Imelda Dolores Garcia, Vanessa Lisette Garcia, Cristobal Fernando Garcia) whom she loved very much. She also went to study in a convent to be a nun in her younger years; but it was not her calling. She passed away peacefully listening to the song "Un Dia a La Vez". She was a treasured jewel and one of a kind. She loved God and all her family very much. Before her passing she had all of us laughing. She's forever in our hearts and will be truly missed and loved.
