Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
Carol Ann Castrovinci
May 26th, 2020
Carol Ann Castrovinci, nee Traina, passed away peacefully in her home in Port Charlotte, Florida on Tuesday, May 26, 2020. She was 76 years old. Carol was a woman of great strength, love and generosity. For the last 40 years she was adored by her husband Basilio (Basil) Alfredo Castrovinci and many children and grandchildren from their blended families. Carol and Basil spent years working together at Basil Castrovinci Associates, Inc. a major actuarial consulting firm in Jersey City, New Jersey, and had many adventures in Jersey City, NJ, Lafayette NJ, Hopatcong, NJ, and beyond, before moving to Florida to retire 10 years ago. They found their home on the Myakka River in Port Charlotte where they welcomed family and friends from near and far with open arms and loving reception. ""Nonna"" as she was known to her 12 grandchildren hosted the grandest holiday gatherings. Her tolerance, patience, and wit will not soon be forgotten by those who loved her. Carol is predeceased by her loving husband, Basilio (""Basil"") Castrovinci. She is survived by her son, James O'Neil (Loredana, “Lolly”), and stepchildren Mary Castrovinci (Anthony Franzese), Basil Castrovinci (Jennifer), Matthew Castrovinci (Carmela), John Castrovinci, Gina Andujar (Edwin), and Lori Castrovinci (Ed Gorman). Carol is also survived by 12 adoring grandchildren, James O'Neil; Basil, Sara and Lia Castrovinci; Antonia, Adrianna, Matthew, and Christian Castrovinci; Gianna and Xavier Andujar; and Eddie and Benny Gorman. Carol's last days were filled with love. Though she will be missed by the many she leaves behind, she is finally home with her soulmate, and we can smile knowing she is happy.
