Carol Susan Jones, 66, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2016. She was a bright, spirited woman who fought ovarian cancer for over seven years. She was an inspiration. As a Christian in her last days she said, "Jesus needs me."Her father was awarded four Bronze Stars for WWII-Pacific action. The flag flew daily at her childhood home in Overland Park, Kansas and in Colorado Springs. She belonged to the VFW Women's Auxiliary and was a Compassion International sponsor.Carol retired after may years at Manitou Springs Elementary as a respected counselor. An alum of the University of Kansas and a strong Jayhawk basketball fan, she watched every game.She is survived by her husband, Ron; daughter, Kelly; sons, Chris, Ty, Torre, and Justin and six grandchildren.
