Carol Anne Whitworth
September 13th, 1943 - June 16th, 2015
After an excitement filled life full of love and laughs, Mrs. Whitworth passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2015. Born and raised in Florence, SC, she was the daughter of the late Clyde and Roberta Jones. A 1965 graduate of the School of Journalism at the University of South Carolina, she went on to earn a master's degree in substance abuse counseling from Rhode Island College in 1993. She was professionally involved in TV and radio broadcast in SC, Mrs. Whitworth traveled the world with her husband and two sons. Mrs. Whitworth was a loving and devoted wife and mother. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her. Mrs. Whitworth is survived by her loving sons, Matthew Whitworth (Lauren) and Daniel Whitworth (Ashley). The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the SC Heart Association, 190 Knox Abbott Drive, Ste. 301, Cayce, SC 29033.

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
