Carol Barbara "Barb" Wilson went to rest on Friday, November 22, 2013 with her family by her side. Barb was born December 25, 1932 in Esko to Axel and Esther (Sarkela) Huima. She was a lifelong resident of Cloquet. She graduated from Cloquet High School and worked at City National Bank, Diamond Match, Northwest Paper, and the Cloquet schools. Barb met the love of her life, Ernest Wilson, and they were married on September 10, 1955. They had two daughters, Heidi and Paula. Together they created many happy memories and a wonderful home to grow up in that was full of laughter and love. Barb enjoyed first and foremost, being a mother and grandmother. She was simply THE BEST. She also enjoyed music and dancing, camping, sports, baking, exercising, shopping, and getting together with her many close friends. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest; parents; mother and father-in-law, Mathilda and William Wilson; sister, Edna Maki; and brother, Floyd Huima. She is survived by her two daughters, Heidi (Ross) Zegan and Paula (Jenny Gilberg) Wilson; and three grandchildren she adored, Haylee, Alexander, and Marco. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Luke's Hospice Home Care & Inpatient, and Diamond Willow of Cloquet for keeping Mom relaxed and comfortable during her final days. Your compassion is a true gift and we will be forever grateful. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St. in Cloquet. Burial was in Maple Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
