Carolyn Ann Jarvis, 86, of Englewood, Florida, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, August 25, 2019. Carolyn was born January 31, 1933 in Ridgewood, New Jersey to Alfred Fowler Gough and Laura Edith Ray. Carolyn graduated Ridgewood High School in 1950, and then went into secretary school. Carolyn married Duane ""Peter"" Jarvis in 1970, and they relocated to Englewood, Florida soon after. She was a member of St. David's Episcopal Church. A real estate broker and part owner for ReMax Bayside Properties, Carolyn helped buyers find their homes for more than 30 years. Carolyn became well-known in the real estate business as a go-getter and multi-million-dollar producer. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Peter, daughter Laurie Kim Smith, and sisters Valerie Poole and Margie Talbot. She is survived by son Robert Gorham Jarvis of Delaware; daughters, Lisa Kelly Jarvis of Englewood, Lynda Jarvis Carden of Englewood, Megan Louise O'Connor of Port Charlotte; and sister Kathy Beckman. Also surviving are grandchildren Alexander Robert Smith, Joseph Ross O'Connor, Kristina Lynn Reinhardt, Shannon Colette Jarvis, and Baoshi Jade Zhao Carden, as well as great-grandchildren Ty, Nathan, and Michaela Smith. A memorial service will be held at Venice Memorial Gardens on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at 11:00AM at 1950 Center Road in Venice, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Carolyn's name to Farley Funeral Home to assist with final costs; contact Eric at Farley Funeral Home at 941-488-2291.
