Carrie L. Browning

Carrie (Sis) Browning (1940- 2024) was happiest when she was with her family and friends. She loved bringing joy to others and was well known for sharing her culinary accomplishments, providing special gifts and always helping when there was a need or sometimes to just make life easier. She was creative, artistic and loved sharing her creations with her family and friends. Every year she would start a craft project in the summer to complete for Christmas gifts. Carrie worked at the Venice hospital for 32 years as a phlebotomist. She looked forward to her job each day and didn't retire until her she was 74 years old because she enjoyed helping the patients and working with the staff so much. Her witty remarks and unique sense of humor brought a bountiful of joy to her family. She loved life and did a phenomenal job of living. She often said that she was thankful for the life that God blessed her with. She was born in Dorchester, Massachusetts and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts. She moved her family to Venice, Florida in 1980. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph Franklin Browning. She cherished their marriage of 48 years. She was also predeceased by her beloved brother John (Jack) Walker. She leaves her children; Ralph Howard Browning, David Browning (Dawn), Susan Browning all of Venice, FL. Her grandson's; James Browning (Jessica) and Christopher Browning (Brianna) of Englewood, FL. Her great-grandchildren; Hunter, Jacob, Gabriella, Brady, Brantley, Madilyn Grace of Englewood, FL. Her favorite sister Susie Manning and brother-in-law Jerry of Venice, FL and her brother Jerry Walker (Joan) of Weymouth, MA. She also leaves many nieces, nephews and dear friends.Services will be held at Farley Funeral Home on Friday March 22, 2024 at 12:00p.m. Carrie’s life can best be honored by embracing life, practicing forgiveness, sharing a funny story or making someone’s day extraordinary.
