Carroll Gainey Stone of Haines City, FL passed away on April 2, 2017. He was 66. Gainey was born on August 30, 1950 in Poston, South Carolina to William Jennings Stone and Flossie Mable Gainey. He was a staff sergeant in the US Army, retired. While in the Army he served as a supply clerk for some 13 years. Gainey was a Christian and a member of the Disabled American Veterans, the Haines City chapter of the American Legion and also a member of the Haines City Moose Lodge. One of his passions was riding his motorcycle and enjoying times with friends and family. Gainey will forever be remembered as the kindest, most humble and charitable person. He is predeceased by his father and he is survived by his wife, of 15 years, Linda Stone; mother, Flossie Nafziger of Davenport, FL; children, Travis Gainey Stone of Gladstone, MO, Tina Carol Collene of Gladstone, MO, Amanda Kay Phieffer of Lake Wales, FL; step-children, Billy Robertson of New York, Barbara Roberson of Leesburg, FL; siblings, Bill Stone of Davenport, FL, Ellen Pooler of Gladstone, MO, Margaret Roberts of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Karen Collene, Emily Collene, Tommy Collene, Matthew Phieffer, Hannah Michelle Gill, Dylon Stone and step-grandchildren, Megan Roberson, Brooke Roberson, Amanda Robertson, Karlie Robertson, Brice Robertson and Phobe Robertson. A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday April 6, 2017 from 3:30 - 5:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, FL with Larry Gainey officiating.
