Catherine Marie McEntee

Catherine Marie McEntee, 91, of Venice, FL formerly of New Jersey passed away peacefully on June 19, 2014. Catherine was the oldest of 8 children to William & Marie McEntee. Born in Franklin, NJ, she graduated from Montclair University and after several years of teaching returned to attend Villanova University Law School. She graduated in 1961 and was recognized for her academic achievements by becoming a member of the Order of the Coif. After a couple of years as a lawyer she returned to her favorite profession, teaching, retiring from the Glen Ridge School System. Catherine was the treasurer of the March for Life for 25 years and was devoted to the Right to Life movement. She was also a lay Carmelite. She was a parishioner at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice, and a member of the Council of Catholic Women. She lived in Margate, NJ before moving to Venice, FL in 2001. Catherine is survived by 2 brothers and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by another brother 4 years ago. She is remembered fondly by her 24 nieces and nephews and their children. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00pm on Thursday, June 26th at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice. She will be laid to rest in Franklin, NJ next to her parents.
