Charles Wegscheider
July 12th, 1931 - June 24th, 2010
Charles (Chuck) Wegscheider died June 24, 2010. He was born on July 12, 1931 in Ft. Scott, Kansas. He attended Ft. Scott Junior College and then attended Kansas University until the local National Guard unit was called to active duty May 1, 1951. He served in Korea until separation in the fall of 1952, when he then returned to KU to complete his degree, graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Business Accounting in January, 1955. He worked in Ft. Scott until accepting a position in Wichita, KS with a CPA firm in September, 1955. He married Marjory (Marge) Dearing, his wife of 55 years, and they resided in Wichita until December, 1962. They then transferred to Denver and Chuck became a partner with the CPA firm, Elmer Fox & Co. in 1964. He and Marge raised their sons in Northglenn, CO and then moved to Arvada in 1988. Chuck retired in 1979. He was on dialysis from 1978 through 1993, when he received a kidney transplant. His wonderful “Gift of Life” kidney was still working great up until the very end of his life! Family was always Chuck’s first priority. He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather. Chuck brought so many things into everyone’s life that he touched – patience, kindness, wisdom, friendship, integrity, honesty, love and understanding. He always had a positive attitude no matter what he was dealing with. He was a gentle man and a gentleman. He is survived by his wife, Marge; two sons, Charles “Bradley” (Kathi) of Golden, Colorado, and Scott (Lauri) of Thornton, Colorado; and three grandchildren, Brandy, Brent and Chad. There will be a memorial service followed by a “Celebration of Life” at the Arvada Center, 6901 Wadsworth Boulevard, Arvada, CO, 80003 on July 1, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Casual attire or your ‘KU’ best! In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to VNA Hospice at Home, 390 Grant St., Denver, CO 80203 Posted by All Veterans Funeral & Cremation
