Charlesina Findlay Slade

Ina Slade, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2015, at the age of 86. Ina was born on July 5, 1928, and spent her youth in Aberdeen, Scotland, before immigrating in 1949 to join her parents and sister in Arizona. Following her marriage to Frank Bond Slade in 1953, Ina became a proud and loving mother to her children Fred, Neil, Charlene, Sheila, and Ian. She derived a lot of joy, and gave a lot of love, to her 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Ina was always willing to share her talents and she taught many people using her skill at needlework, crochet, knitting, and playing the piano. Following her husband's death in 1988, Ina volunteered to serve as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Family History Center in Mesa. She loved to help people find records of their ancestors, and specialized in finding family members from Scotland and Great Britain. Ina is survived by her sister, Ella Ralph Mitchell, her children Fred Marti, Neil Janice, Charlene Rob Barber, Sheila Scott Martin, and Ian Beth, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 11 am at the LDS Church Building located at 848 N. Westwood St., Mesa, AZ 85201.
