Chriseda "Chrissy" Lou Howe
April 18th, 1945 - October 19th, 2020
Chriseda Lou (Degeberg) Howe, best known as “Chris” or “Chrissy,” was born in Edina (Morningside), Minnesota on April 18th 1945. She attended the local elementary and secondary schools, graduating from Edina High School in 1963. She attended the University of Minnesota for one year, and decided traveling might be fun. She advanced herself, training and serving as a Stewardess for Eastern Airlines based in the Windy City of Chicago. In 1968, she moved to sunny Colorado. “I don’t plan on leaving, it’s the best!” she shared at her 40th high school reunion. The majority of her working years were with Petroleum Information in downtown Denver. In her 26 years she was an exemplary employee, received many promotions, and made many lasting friendships. One of her coworkers, June Carter introduced her to the man she would marry, Ed Howe. They shared 37 years together and are now reunited in the afterlife. An avid football fan, she faithfully followed her Minnesota Vikings and Denver’s own Broncos, cheering them on in victory and defeat. The house was decorated in orange and blue banners on game days and the family room was and still is Bronco’s nation year round. Chris was active as a volunteer with the Jeffco Action Center for years and was a generous contributor to many charity groups locally and worldwide. Chris is proceeded in death by her husband, Ed Howe, her parents, Vivian (Peterson) and Donald Degeberg, and a shared grandson Michael J. Hurst. She is survived by her four siblings, their spouses. Melanie Garrison and husband Tom, Deena Scherkenbach and husband Tim, Davin Degeberg and wife Cindy, Kim Durkee and husband Paul, 12 nieces and nephews, a host of cousins and treasured friends. She also shared Ed’s two children from a previous marriage: Chuck Howe and wife Tanya, Jerriann (Howe) Blakeslee and husband Bob, granddaughter Elisa Sisk and husband Michael, granddaughter-in-law Katie Hurst, 10 great granddaughters and one great grandson. Chrissy shared with her sister, Deena, that she was “ready to go” on Sunday night, and she breathed her last breath early the next morning, October 19th, 2020. Internment to be conducted at Fort Logan on the 5th day of November 2020. Attendance is limited at Chris’s request and due to COVID-19 restrictions. Thank you for your understanding. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in her honor to any of the charities below.
