Clyde (Rusty) Dallas, 69, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. Born on August 11, 1951 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Russell W. Dallas and Florence Boyer Dallas. By trade, Rusty was a meat cutter. He started out at his family's market, Boyer's Meat Market in Columbia and continued to work in sales over the following years. He went on to own The Purple Cow Grocery and Dallas Country Meat Market. He was last employed with Morganelli's Liquor Store where he made lifelong friends and was a beloved co-worker. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially time spent on the family farm in Eastover and Lake Murray, fishing and spending time with family and friends at the Lake house. Rusty was a lifelong member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was a proud member of the Lower Richland Masonic Lodge 406. He was dearly loved by all of his family and friends. He will be missed by many. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Dallas Norris. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 50 years, Sharon Dallas, children, Sharny Barhydt (Perry), Rantz Dallas (Katy), four grandchildren, Luke and Emmy Barhydt, Wyatt and Stella Dallas, brother, Melvin Dallas (Michelle); as well as one nephew and two nieces. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the American Kidney Foundation. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

Greenlawn Memorial Park

Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
