Clyde Lewis
January 20th, 1936 - October 16th, 2013
Born January 20, 1936 in Evington, Virginia to Berkley Chambers Lewis and Nannie Worley Lewis. Departed this life October 16, 2013 surrounded by the love of his family and friends after a long battle with cancer in the home he and his family designed and built. Survived by wife of 48 years Barbara, daughter Debra Gibson (husband Dan), son Randy Lewis & son Mike Lewis (Richard and daughters Karen, Alyssa & Kayla), brother Meredith (wife Dorothy), sister Joyce Nelson (husband Jim), grandsons Corey and Derek West and his four legged buddy Wally. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Morris & Roger Lewis. Was a proud 23 year Army Veteran serving 3 tours in Germany, 1 in Italy and 1 in Vietnam. In retirement he was a plumber both as a civil servant and employed by a private contractor. He was a strong, hard working quiet man. He loved collecting and working on old cars, fishing especially at Blue Mesa Reservoir, square dancing, playing cards and spending time with his family. He was a die-hard fan of the Denver Broncos and the Colorado Rockies. Loved country western music, especially reruns of Hee Haw. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to: The American Cancer Society, Pikes Peak Hospice 2550 Tenderfoot Hill St, Colorado Springs, CO 80906 or charity of donor’s choice. Memorial celebration 11:00 a.m. at Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, 1201 Leta Drive, Security Colorado.
