Colton "Roy" Standing Crow, 43, a lifelong resident of Denver, CO, passed away on August 5, 2016, in Denver, CO, as a result of a tragic motorcycle accident. Colton was born in Denver, CO, on May 18, 1973, to the late Clark Mario Roy and Starle Edwina Deitz. He is preceded in death by his sister Shane Mickey Roy and late paternal grandparents, Alex Roy and Adelina Gonzales Roy and late maternal grandparents Edwin and Agnes Deitz. He is survived by sisters, Alicia "Peanut" Loy-Steiner of Roseberg, OR, Star Roy of Denver, CO, Mikayla Astor of Thornton, CO and Renee Bookout of Globe, AZ. He also leaves behind his beloved son Kola. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Colton was proud of his Native American, Ute and Blackfoot blood and believed in honoring and living the native way. He was of the Dog Soldier Clan. He boasted of his strong Roy genes and the "Roy Nose" which he enjoyed referring to as a "family trade mark." He believed in loyalty and was a prime example of such to family and friends, whom all loved him dearly. Every day was filled with laughter and jokes. Those closest to him could count on his daily morning greeting or evening, "How was your day." He loved to ride his motorcycle and spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed training dogs and did so professionally, He received a master's degree and multiple awards and certifications. A traditional sacred, Native American ceremony will be held for him on Saturday, August 13th, at 5:00 PM at Sloan's Lake, 23rd at Utica. Taking of pictures or video is forbidden. A farewell ride in Colton's honor will be on Sunday, August 14th to Indian Springs. Kickstands up at 10:00 AM from Extra Point Sports Bar, 4050 E. 100th Ave., Thornton, CO. Colton's spirit will be released into the wind by his beloved sister, Star. Reception in celebration and honor of Colton's life will be held at Extra Point Sports Bar, immediately following run.
