Corrine Thielen
March 26th, 1938 - August 1st, 2024
Corrine Margaret Welsch Tschida Thielen, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on March 26, 1938 to Cecelia and Florian Welsch. Corrine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Her legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched.
After graduating from nursing school, Corrine married Bob Tschida and together they had five children. They later divorced. She found her beloved Gene Thielen and they were married for 28 years. She was the mother of five children—Kristi Tschida, Bob (Maura) Tschida, Karen (Ray) Larson, Bill (Karen) Tschida, Kathy (Scott) Halvorson and four step-children Kurt (Abby) Thielen, Sheryl (Jim) Nash, Jeff (Crista) Thielen, Stella (Kerry) Thielen. She has 23 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren
Corrine's grandchildren and great-grandchildren knew her as a gentle presence and a source of endless support. She took great joy in their accomplishments and found immense pride in watching them grow into their own.
Corrine was known for her nurturing spirit, her dedication to her family, and her commitment to her community. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends sharing stories with a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face. She volunteered at Joseph's Coat for more than 25 years, her compassionate spirit touched countless lives and exemplified her selfless dedication to helping others. Corrine’s unwavering love for God guided her every step, she cherished her faith deeply.
Corrine was proceeded in death by her parents, Cecelia Welsch and Florian Welsch, brother Jack Welsch and sister-in-law Mary Anne Welsch.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 6, 2024, at Willwerscheid Funeral Home from 4-7pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 11am at St. Peter's Catholic Church 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota, with a visitation prior to mass at 10am.
