Chapin---Funeral services for Cynthia Risinger Almond, 61 of Chapin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Reverend Robert Reeves and Pastor Phil Lavender will officiate. Burial will follow at Southland Memorial Gardens. The procession will be led by the officiants and her grandson, Matthew Hallman. Pallbearers will be Alex Almond, Michael Collins, Ricky Knight, Ryan Risinger, Steven Byrd, and William Bryd. Honorary pallbearers will be, Harry Knight, Jason Knight, Jerry Almond, Joshua Almond, Joshua Risinger, Kyle Miller, Tim Almond. The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 1201 Mohawk Drive, West Columbia, SC 29169 or Connie Maxwell Children's Home, PO Box 1178, Greenwood, SC 29648 or American Breast Cancer, SC Chapter, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210. Mrs. Almond, beloved wife of Paul Almond passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2013. Born in Columbia, she was the daughter of Thomas J. Risinger, Jr. and Marian Smith Risinger. She was a lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She retired from Bell South after 20 years of service and a member of Telephone Pioneers. Cynthia was a 1970 graduate of Brooklyn-Cayce High School. Known as Nana to her grandchildren, she loved and adored her grandchildren, caller her grandson her "baby boy" and granddaughter her "California Angel". Cynthia enjoyed inspiring her love for Jesus to her friends and family. Surviving in addition to her loving husband of 40 years, Paul Almond of Chapin; parents Thomas J. Risinger Jr. and Marian S. Risinger of West Columbia; daughter Stacey Hallman (Dean) of Columbia; brother Tommy Risinger (Dana) of West Columbia and Ray Risinger (Kathy) of Lexington; grandchildren, Ashlyn Hallman and Matthew Hallman. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mackenzie Ann Hallman. She is also survived by a large extended family, including an aunt, and uncle, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
