Mom and Dad are together again and hopefully dancing in the sky. Our mom, Cindy Schwab, passed away on the evening of May 8, 2024. Mom was born on February 10, 1946 in Durango, Colorado. She graduated from Page High School and immediately became a wife to the love of her life, Roger. She lovingly raised Kelly and Carrie in Payson, Arizona and was ecstatic when she became an Ama to Marisa, then Toby. Her life was full of love and her family meant everything, including the family she “adopted”. Mom cared deeply for all people around her. She found great joy in working in hospitals, nursing homes, and schools where she cared for others.
While Alzheimers took its toll, she was funny and caring even when residing in memory care. The staff loved her spirit and would laugh and worry when she would toss her walker to the side to dance whenever Elvis Presley music was played! We enjoyed taking her out to lunch so she could rediscover her love of spring rolls and hot fudge sundaes each time! We must all tip a caramel macchiato latte in her honor as she loved her coffee!
Mom’s ashes will be scattered where she can join Dad in a place special to both. We want to express our appreciation to the caring staff at Parkland Memory Care and Always Present Hospice for the love they showered on Mom! Her spirit will live on through her friends, family and grandchildren. Her presence and beautiful heart will be missed by all and especially her daughters and sons-in-law, Kelly (Gary Guisto) and Carrie (Harry Giusto), and her grandchildren, Marisa and Toby.
