Cyril Ruder
June 30th, 1925 - February 20th, 2013
Cyril Ruder 87 of Aurora, CO, passed away February 20, 2013. Cyril was born in Hays, Kansas to Frank and Anna Ruder. Cyril graduated from Schoenchen High School in 1943, was a World War II Army Veteran serving from 1943 to 1946. He was married to Henrietta Marie Unrein in 1948 for 53 years. Cyril was an amazing man, a devoted loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was very strong willed, lived life to its fullest and brought sunshine to everyone he knew. He was a very social man and wore many hats in his lifetime. He was a very hard worker and was considered a “jack of all trades”; he was a great role model to his children and grandchildren. He was the owner of a family owned business RUDERS PRODUCE of 26 years in Denver, CO. After retiring he and his wife moved to Las Vegas, NV for 10 years. He then moved to Grand Junction, CO where he continued his passion for ‘his’ fruits and vegetables, every summer he would go to the Palisade Orchards, get a load of peaches, tomatoes and other fresh vegetables and sell them at the Farmers Market in Fruita, CO. Cyril’s last 2 years he moved to Aurora, CO., but continued to drive over to Grand Junction every week in the summer for peaches and fresh vegetables. On the weekends, he would set up and sell produce on a corner close to where he lived. Cyril was a man that always had to keep busy; he said that is what kept him young. He loved entertaining all of us by playing his Harmonica, such a talent and a special treat that we all enjoyed. Other interests and hobbies of his included spending time with his family, he loved to cook (and what a great cook he was, fried chicken was his specialty), going to Las Vegas to play his hot numbers in KENO, going to the swimming pool with his grandchildren and families, and building legos and coloring with his great-grandchildren. His summers consisted of planting vegetable gardens and lots of beautiful flowers, and a good game of croquet whenever possible. Every fall he enjoyed watching football and was one of the Denver Broncos biggest fans. He is survived by his daughter Jane Wilson (Rick) Aurora, CO , sons Richard Ruder (Irene) Mukwonago, WI, David Ruder (Darlyn) of Franklin, WI and Robin Ruder, Las Vegas, NV , 9 Grandchildren; Bradley Wilson (Julie), Heidi Lyster (Brian), Timothy Wilson (Stacey), Ashley Johnston (Kolin), Maggie Wetzel (John), Skylar Ruder, Sarah Ruder, Matthew Ruder (Stacy), Katie Ruder, and 14 Great-Grandchildren; Kylan Wilson, Kinslie Wilson, Kacen Wilson, Addison Lyster , Calli Jo Lyster , Taytum Lyster, Beau Lyster, Jocelynn Wilson, Dominic Wetzel, Aiden Wetzel, Heidi Wetzel, Mikey , Benjamin, and Preston Ruder.
