Dale Terry
September 14th, 1940 - October 20th, 2018
Dale Thomas Terry In Memorium Dale Thomas Terry, 78, entered peacefully into the arms of his Savior on the Sabbath, October 20, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He was at home, surrounded by his beloved wife and children. Dale was born in Denver, Colorado to Sherwin and Beatrice (Pfeiffer) Terry. His great great grandfather, Seth Terry, was one of the founders of Longmont, Colorado. Dale entered the Marine Corps in the early sixties and earned merit badges as a pistol and rifle expert. That skill later transferred to archery, a life-long hobby; he is a lifetime member of the Columbine Archery Range. His passion for excellence with his hands applied as well in his work as a tradesman. In addition to his love of nature and the serenity of the wilderness areas, he was a voracious reader and student of the Civil War and WWII. A quiet man with a dry sense of humor, he loved teasing those closest to him, and in many social circles would say something audacious to “stir things up.” He had a commitment to truth and encouraged others to be truthful with themselves. He had a deep personal relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and Yeshua the Messiah. He lived in both the spiritual and temporal realms concurrently. His visions and prophetic words affected the lives of all who were blessed to receive them. Dale was an ordained pastor and elder at Shema Messianic Community at the time of his death. Dale is survived by his wife Marilyn (Cowen) Terry, daughter Tess (John) Detwiler, son Kirk Terry, sisters Diane (Jack) Martin, Maureen (Jim) Pennetta, and brother John Terry. He has numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in the Denver area, as well as 13 grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Dale was buried at Ft. Logan cemetery with military honors on October 25, 2018. There will be a celebration of his life at 5 pm on November 11th at Family in Christ Community Church in Westminster, Colorado. The family expresses deep appreciation to the wonderful team at Suncrest Hospice, and to the many saints for their loving support and prayers. Dale finished his race well and has heard the words at last: “Well done, My good and faithful servant. Enter into the joy of your Master.”
