Daniel E. Lyons, age 82, of Venice, FL, died on August 25, 2014. He was born in Flushing Michigan on November 6, 1931 to John J. and Olive ""Grace"" Lyons. Daniel came to the Nokomis area in the 1950's. He was an avid outdoorsman and had a gardener's green thumb. Daniel was also a joker who was known for his sense of humor. Surviving family members include sons Daniel ""Toby"" Lyons, Jr, Paul Lyons (Donna), and Ronald Lyons (Jeff Seitz); daughters Teresa Marcolini (James) and Angela Quinn (Michael); 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren' brothers Robert Lyons (Vivian) and Jon Lyons (Rose); and sisters Barbara Jean Morse and Beverly Kinnee (Herb). Daniel was preceded in death by brother in law Fred Morse. Services will be held at Sarasota National Cemetery on Thursday, August 28th at 1:30 PM.
