Darlene Lorraine Sunnarborg, 85, of Esko, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2019. She was born July 26, 1933 to Walfred and Mamie Maki in Covington, MI. Darlene married Werner Sunnarborg on May 21, 1955 when she moved to Esko. She was a member of Esko Apostolic Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher, was head of the serving groups and was the church organist for many years. Her enjoyment was babysitting kids, volunteering at Nopeming Nursing Home and making biscuit. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Werner; her parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Darlene is survived by her children, Patti (Rob) Lockman and David (Sherry) Sunnarborg; grandchildren, Keifer Sunnarborg and Jordann Schmitz; great grandchildren, Ciara and Cruz; brother, Ron Maki, Sr. and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the 1:00 p.m. Funeral Service, Tuesday, May 21, 2019 in Esko Apostolic Lutheran Church with burial in Apostolic Lutheran Cemetery.
