Darryl Ross Juntunen, 54 of Duluth, formerly of Esko, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2015 in St. Luke's Hospital. He was born October 6, 1961 in Cloquet to Wally and Donna Juntunen. Darryl graduated from Esko High School in 1980. He attended diesel mechanic school at Central Lakes College in Staples. Darryl worked as a diesel mechanic for Quickie Transport, Mississippi Transport, Liquid Transport, and Don Hansen Welding. Darryl enjoyed hunting, fishing, four wheeling, listening to blues music, and just being outdoors. He was preceded in death by his father, Wally. Darryl is survived by his daughter, Cassie (Dustin) Peterson of Rochester; his mother, Donna Juntunen of Carlton; sisters, Karen (Jerry) Knaus of Duluth and Cindy (Jeff) Hedlund of Esko; brother, Steven Juntunen of Carlton; two grandchildren, Cruz and Remi Peterson; his special friend, Joy Gustafson of Duluth; and five nephews and their families. Visitation: 10 until the 11:00 a.m. Memorial Service Tuesday, May 10, 2016 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet.
