Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice
David Beach
October 27th, 1960 - September 15th, 2020
Dave Beach, 59, of Venice, FL passed away unexpectedly on September 15th, 2020 at Venice Regional Hospital. Dave was born in Story City, Iowa on October 27, 1960, son of the late Walton and Lenore Beach. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1979 and married his high school sweetheart, Deb, on July 24, 1982. Dave started his career in the grocery business in Webster City and worked his way up within Hy-Vee over 38 years. He retired in 2014 after being a director at 5 stores in the Midwest and receiving the store director of the year award. Dave's work ethic, love for people, and vibrant personality were known to all he worked with and anyone who came into his store. After retirement, Dave and Deb moved to Venice, FL. Unsurprisingly, he quickly became immersed in the community at the Venetian Golf and River Club and enjoyed two of his favorite things, golf and warm weather, on a daily basis. Dave was a loving father/Bampa (Grandpa)/father-in-law, devoted husband, and an avid golfer. He never met a stranger and this was evident from the lifelong friendships he made at every stop - Grinnell, Omaha, Algona, Oskaloosa, Burlington, Webster City, Venice, and more. Although his time with us was too short he touched many lives, leaving a standing legacy and smile on everyone's face especially when telling a ""Dave story"". He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Deb; his daughter Brittany and husband Phil Swedun of Chicago, IL; and his son Garrett and wife Megan Beach of Ankeny, IA. He has one very loved granddaughter, Maisie, of Ankeny. He is also survived by his brother Wayne Beach of San Diego, CA; sister Diane Wertz, of Sioux City, IA; mother-in-law Pat Tempel of Webster City, IA; brother-in-law Tim and wife Jody Tempel of San Jose, CA; brother-in-law Tony and wife Teresa Tempel of Webster City, IA; and 8 nieces and nephews. Family, friends, and others whose lives were touched by Dave are welcome to join us for a celebration of his life on Sunday, October 4th, 2020 from 3-7 PM at Briggs Woods Conference Center in Webster City, IA or on Sunday, October 25th, 2020 from 3-5PM at the Venetian River Club in Venice, FL. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements. A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
