David Martinez
June 27th, 1937 - February 4th, 2015
David R. Martinez, 77 years old, of Denver, Colorado passed away on February 4, 2015 ath Christopher House while under the care of Exempla Lutheran Hospice in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. He was born on June 27, 1937, the youngest child of Jose B Martinez and Theresa Maria Lopez. Both of his parents proceeded him in death as well as 9 siblings: Yvonne and John who passed in infancy, Jose B. (Jr.) Manuel J., Lito, Martin B., Rose, and Virginia. He is survived by one brother Eugene F. Martinez (Margaret) of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and one sister Lillian Vecchairella of Lakewood, Colorado; neice Patricia L. Berndt-Sullivan (Edward C.) of Wasilla Alaska, 2 Grand Nieces – Shannon K. Hofferber (Andy) of Laramie, Wyoming and her son Justin K. White of Aurora Colorado; and Cara R. Berndt and her children Seth T. and Marissa M. McCrery, all of Arvada, Colorado. He was married to Christine Chavez – Nocenta on February 15, 1977 and later divorced on March 11, 1969 in Los Angeles, California. He was of the Catholic Faith. He received 6 of his Sacraments at the Sacred Heart Parish in Alamosa Colorado. Father Jason of St. Peter + Paul Parish administered the Last Rights at the Christopher House in Wheat Ridge Colorado. He Graduated for Alamosa High School in 1955 and a short time later joined the Air Force. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he started to work for TRW in Los Angeles, California in 1965 and retired from TRW in 1998. He was a Mechanical Engineer, an Aero Draftsman, and a Business Educator for TRW. Cremation was chosen and Air Force Honor Services will be held at the Fort Logan National Cemetery, staging area B, on February 12, 2015 at 10:30am. His ashes will be entombed at the columbarium also at Fort Logan. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Exempla Lutheran Hospicein Wheat Ridge Colorado, or any Hospice of your choice in honor of him.
