WEST COLUMBIA: A memorial service for Dean Arthur Eichelberger, 58, formerly of Kuna, ID, will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the First Presbyterian Church of Columbia. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday at Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington. A man of strong faith, loving father, husband and soon to be grandfather. Mr. Eichelberger passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013. Born in Boise, ID, he was a son of Ralph Carl and Alice Irene Eichelberger. Mr. Eichelberger received his Bachelor's Degree from Bob Jones University in 1978; and graduated from USC Law School in 1987. He was employed with the U.S. Department of Justice as an Assistant U.S. Attorney from 1989 until present. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Columbia and of the First Presbyterian Chancel and Chamber Choirs. Mr. Eichelberger liked photography and enjoyed home improvement projects. Every Saturday he attended the flea market, he was an avid collector of "things". Survivors include his parents, Ralph Carl and Alice Irene Eichelberger of Kuna, ID; his loving wife, "the love of his life" Dale Eichelberger; daughter, Kristi Eichelberger (Nolan) sons, Jonathan Eichelberger (Joanna) and Jason Eichelberger (Kim) all of West Columbia; sisters, Janet Gluck of Sacramento, CA, Suzanne Britanyak of Buckley, WA and Nancy Smith of Richland, WA; brothers, Leland Eichelberger of Kuna, ID, Clinton Eichelberger of Boise, ID, David Eichelberger of Wenatchee, WA and Dr. Steven Eichelberger of Kuna, ID. A special thanks to Dr. James Wells and his infusion nurse, Sharon, of Lexington Oncology for their dedication and support. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Melanoma Research Foundation, 1411 K Street, NW Suite 500, Washington, DC 20005 or on-line at melanoma.org. Memorials may also be made in memory of Dean to the First Presbyterian Music Ministry Fund at 1324 Marion Street, Columbia, SC 29201. "Grace and Peace to all"
