Denise Ann (Smith) Jackson, 71, went with the Lord's Angels on March 11, 2018. She was residing in Davenport, FL at the time of her demise, she beat cancer twice, but could not fight off the third round. Denise was born on June 21, 1946 to Gordan and Mildred Smith in Danville, IL and grew up in Veedersburg, IN. She was very active in school as a singer, she played clarinet, marched with the band as a majorette and was in the Junior and Senior plays. Denise graduated from Veedersburg High School and 2 days later married Robert L. Jackson, they were married on May 24, 1964. She was predeceased by her sisters, Fauneil McClean, Mariette Pyle and Katha Hoefle. Denise is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Thonya LeeAnn Scudder of Davenport, FL, Pastor Aaron Lindley Jackson of Sterling, IL; grandchildren, Meagen Moreman of Louisville, KY, Calven Scudder of Dallas, TX, Garrette Jackson of Crown College, MN, Ben Jackson of Sterling, IL; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Betty Labaw and Virginia Miller, both of Veedersburg. A visitation will be Thursday from 4-6 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City, FL and the funeral will be Friday, March 16, 2018 at 11 am at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, FL.
