Diane Lee Knapp
March 23rd, 1938 - May 28th, 2020
Diane Lee Knapp was born to Edna and Carl Brenstrom on March 23, 1938 in Moline, Illinois and was called home by our Lord Jesus Christ on May 28, 2020 in Colorado Springs at the age of 82. Diane graduated from Moline High School in 1955 and moved to Colorado Springs that same year. She was employed by the Air Force at Ent Air Force Base and at the Air Force Academy. She met and married her devoted husband, Robert Dale Knapp, in 1963 and they were blessed with fifty-six years together. Since Bob was in the military, they lived at several locations. They returned to Colorado Springs in 1979 where they remained and ultimately retired. Diane received a business degree in 1972 from The University of Texas in El Paso. In 1978, she earned a Master's in Business and Career Education from The University of Arizona in Tucson. She taught many high school and college courses. Diane was a woman of very strong faith and was confident of her heavenly destination. She was an evangelist to every member of her family and to everyone she met. She loved as she was biblically instructed to love. Diane taught Sunday School classes at various levels, sang in church choirs, and participated in many Bible classes and church activities. While in Belgium, she served as Secretary for the European Council of Protestant Women in 1974-75. She also was a volunteer for Compassion International at Colorado Springs. Diane loved the precious ones God placed in her family, and much of her life was devoted to sharing with them. She enjoyed her friendships and liked people, often initiating conversations with people she did not know. She is survived by her husband, Bob; daughters, Lisa Kay Villa and Traci Lynn Kellner; granddaughters, Brittany (Jeff) Prewitt, Alicia Palmer, Allison and Annika Kellner; grandson, Tyler Caldwell; and great-granddaughter, Norah Prewitt.
