Dolores Valena Quintero July 22, 1938 ~ June 12, 2022 Dolores Valena Quintero (Valdez), age 83, of Denver, Colorado passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2022. Dolores was born on July 22, 1938, in (Alamosa, Colorado) to the late Juan Valdez and Valeria Segura. Dolores was the oldest of three siblings. She was preceded in death by Viola Martinez and Richard Valdez. She is survived by her daughter Camille and her four grandchildren: Alyssa, Sheldon, Loriel, and Auriel. In the last 15 years of her life, she was accompanied by her dog Jiggles who was always by her side. Dolores was a Colorado native and lived most of her life in the Denver area. Her family/parents were from New Mexico and Alamosa, Colorado. She graduated from Manual High School and worked as a seamstress for over thirty years. Following retirement, she worked for Denver Public Schools in the cafeteria where she enjoyed serving the children. In her earlier years, she enjoyed dancing, going to the casino, and traveling. She was a devout Catholic and prided herself as a grandmother to her grandchildren and many neighbor children living on Scranton St. Dolores' magnetic personality drew people together. Those who loved her found her signature candor and humor very entertaining. She was always ready to laugh, make a joke and say what was on her mind. Dolores will be dearly missed. Services will be Friday, July 15, 2022, with a Prayer of the Rosary will be a t 10:30am, followed by a Memorial Mass, at 11:00am at Ascension Catholic Parish, 14050 E, Maxwell Place, Denver, CO; with a reception to follow Mass in the church hall.
