Donald Edward Christian Sr., 62, of Cloquet, died Sunday, August 23, 2009 in St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born on November 14, 1946 in Duluth to Chester and Lucille Christian. Don was married to Debbie Newsum on November 28, 1977 in Carlton. Don worked doing auto body repair. He was a member of the Cloquet Moose Lodge #1274. He enjoyed four wheeling, snowmobiling, dancing, playing pool, cribbage and bingo, watching auto racing and all star wrestling. He will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help anyone. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debbie; parents, Chester and Lucille; infant sister, Lori; nephews, James Christian Jr. and Christian Ojanen; and father-in-law Julius Newsum. Survivors include his son, Donald Christian Jr. of Cloquet; Brother, James (Joyce) Christian of Cloquet; sisters, Bonnie (Franco) Schinigoi of Rochester, MN, Kathy Wiita of Coon Rapids, Cindy (Larry) Crotteau of Cloquet, Teri Christian of Cloquet; mother-in-law, Edith (George) Bradley of Wrenshall; his dog, Baby and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on Thursday, August 27, 2009 in Atkins-Northland Funeral Home in Cloquet. Burial was in the Silverbrook Cemetery in Wrenshall.
