Donald T. Seamans, age 67, of North Port, Florida and Cumberland, Rhode Island, passed away unexpectedly on January 4, 2010. He was born on June 21, 1942 in Providence, Rhode Island to Manuel & Mary (Fowler) Seamans. He was a purchasing agent for various display manufacturing companies in Rhode Island and was self-employed with his own company I.H.I. Home Improvements until his retirement to North Port in 2000. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during Vietnam. He was also a member of the Knight of Columbus Bishop Hickey Council and the Punta Gorda Elks Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Sandra L. (Vieira) Seamans, a son, Gabriel Seamans; two sisters, Shirley LaScala of Lincoln, Rhode Island, Barbara Amaral of North Providence, Rhode Island and a brother, James Seamans of Lexington, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his two brothers, Lawrence and Gil Seamans. Visitation, services and burial will be held in Providence, Rhode Island.
