Donald Eugene Stafford was born on January 30, 1946 in Oxford Nebraska to parents Edward Sr. and Dorothy Stafford. He was the fourth of 5 children that included brother Edward Jr., Sister Jeri, brother Ronald, and sister Trudy, and was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Ed and Ron. He grew up in Oxford, and joined the United States Air Force shortly after his first year of college at Northern Colorado College in Greeley where he was studying Music. On Halloween 1967, he married Beverly, his high school sweetheart and the love of his life. They were stationed at Rhein Main Air Force Base near Frankfurt Germany, and while there in 1970 their first son Nicholas was born. They returned to the states in 1971, and settled in Denver Colorado where he first found work at Montgomery Ward Department store. In 1976 their second son Joel was born, and Don and Bev settled their family in Lakewood, Colorado. Don worked at Montgomery Ward for 18 years, then at Davis Audio Visual Inc. as Corporate General Manager, and finally at Lakewood Fordland where he retired as the Fleet Sales Manager in 2014. He was a dedicated Christian and remained strong in his faith. He loved Jesus, cherished his family, and was kind and generous to everyone he met. Don passed away on Tuesday April 5, 2016 in the Collier Hospice after an illness. He was with his family at his passing. He leaves behind his beloved wife Bev of Lakewood, son Nick and his wife Linda of Sidney Nebraska, son Joe and his wife Deborah of Westminster, Colorado, seven grandchildren, Mikaeyla age 21, Madisen age 19, Ashley age 19, Zane age 16, Alexis age 14, Henry age 10, and Graham age 7, two sisters, Jeri Rankin of Aurora, Colorado, and Trudy LaFollette and her husband Dennis of Kearney, Nebraska, several nieces and nephews, and many, many, friends.
