Dorothy Taylor Gerard lived a blessed life of 100 yrs. She passed away on June 27, 2022, in Venice, FL. Dorothy was born on February 8, 1922, to John and Clara Taylor in Maplewood, MO. She is a Veteran of WWII. She served in the Navy as a Wave. She married her husband Frank Gerard June 7, 1948. She and her husband raised their five children on the campus of Cranbrook Preparatory School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, where her husband taught Mathematics for 40 years. They retired to Traverse City, MI for seven years then moved to Venice, FL to be close to family. Dorothy was an avid landscape painter, enjoyed flower gardening, traveling and the outdoors. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Dorothy is predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Frank Gerard. She is survived by her children Barbara (Larry) Newman, John Gerard, George (Marsha) Gerard,Mary Harrington and Madeline (Paul) Cowan, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. A mass was held at Our Lady of Lourdes, 1301 Center Rd, Venice, FL 34292, on Friday July 1, 2022, at 11AM. Interment followed at Venice Memorial Gardens, 1950 Center Rd, Venice, FL 34292.
