Dorothy N. Nolan

Nolan, Dorothy "Dot" Norris 85, of Mesa, AZ passed away on Nov 05, 2009. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, sister & friend. Dot was born in Greenville, MS to the late Claude & Maggie Norris. She worked in Accounting and Finance for the US Civil Service for 25 years & the Chandler Housing Authority for 10 years. After retirement, Dot stayed at home to take care of her grandchildren & volunteer at the Child Crisis Center. In her later years, Dot met & married the love of her life, Jim Nolan. They divided their time between their homes in Queen Creek & Show Low & traveling around the US to visit family & friends. Dot enjoyed life & loved to talk, laugh, dance, cook, eat good Southern food, travel, visit, "go to town" & meet new people. Loving family members include two sons, Bob Petersen & his wife Brenda, Pete Petersen & his wife Lu & one daughter, Patty Morgan & her partner Dan, 7 grandchildren: Carrie Ann Manny, Robert Nicci, Brandi KC, Andrea, Brian, Dana BJ & Scott Suzanne & 8 great-grandchildren: Kele, Brittany, Brittin, Lil' Robert, Lucas. Evan, Madison & Alexis. Dot has 3 sisters-in-law: Dean & Fay Norris of Lake Village, AR & Angie Norris of Louisville, KY. She will be greatly missed by everyone who knew & loved her. Dot was preceded in death by her loving husband Jim Nolan, her 3 brothers Bill, Paul & Buddy Norris & her sister Mamie Sorrells. A memorial gathering for family & friends to remember & celebrate Dot's life will be held on Sat. Nov 14 from 1-4pm at the home of her son, Pete - 3584 E. Vista Grande, Queen Creek 85242.
