Dorothy Ann Schultzwent to be with theLordonJuly 23,2021after a lengthy illness. Dorothy was born in Mayville, North Dakota,to Harold and Carol Willmert on April18, 1937.She grew up on the family farm near Hope, North Dakota, spending winters in Kansas City,Missouri.Dorothywas valedictorian of her class atNotre Dame de Sion High School in Kansas Cityandgraduatedfrom Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. Shereceivedher master's degree from theUniversityof Nebraska-Omaha.Dorothy met the love of her life, Erling, while at Dana College. They were married in 1957. Daughter,Deborahwasbornin 1958 andtheir son, Paul, followed in 1959.Dorothy taught French at Burke High School in Omaha from its opening in 1967 until her retirement in1992. She received numerous accolades for her teaching abilities, including the Alice Buffet Outstanding Teacher Award and the Distinguished Alumni Award from Dana College.Dorothy loved her family and was adevotedmember ofthe Lutheran church. She was an avidcrafter and card-makerand delightedin sending her custom creationstofamilyandfriendson birthdays and other specialoccasions. DorothyfollowedCornhuskerfootballandall the Denverand Phoenixsports teams.Dorothyand Erlingenjoyed international travelandmanycruises.After retiring, theylivedfull-timein theirRV,spendingsummers in Gunnison, Colorado,while winteringin Casa Grande, Arizona,ultimatelylivingin CasaGrande year-round. They recently relocated to Colorado Springs to be closer to family.Sheissurvivedbyherhusbandofsixty-fouryears,Erling;daughter,Deborah(Terry)DeBaucheofElbert, Colorado;son, Paul (Janet) Schultz of Boulder, Colorado;brother, Walter (Joan) Willmert of Lawrence, Kansas;sister, Carol(Jake)WeigelofLexington,Oklahoma;grandchildren, Spencer (Hanna)DeBauche, Ethan (Rachel)DeBauche, AdrienneDeBauche, Anna (Josh) Cole, Leah Schultz, and Hal Schultz;andgreat-granddaughter, Nora DorothyDeBauche.Memorial Service, 11:00 AM, Friday, August 6, 2021,Holy CrossLutheran Church, 4125 Constitution Avenue, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80909.Memorials in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Salvation Army orTrinityLutheran Church in Casa Grande.Cards to the family may be sent C/O The Springs Funeral Services - North, 6575 Oakwood Boulevard, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80923.
