Douglas Wendell Dixon, 57 of Cloquet passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014 in his home. He was born January 6, 1957 in Cloquet to Walfred and Virginia Dixon. Doug worked for Jarden Homebrands for 25 years and prior to that he worked at Jeno's in Duluth. Doug married Marie Schultz on September 14, 1996 in Jay Cooke State Park. Doug was a member of the Paperworker's Union for 25 years and was a former member of Gem and Mineral Society of Cloquet. Doug was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Donald, Dennis and David. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his wife, Marie of Cloquet; children, Chris Simmons of Cloquet, Doug Dixon of Duluth and Amelia Dixon of Esko; two sisters, Diane Dixon of Cloquet and Wanda Amon of Detroit; nieces, Christine Spurlin, Deb Maier and their families. A gathering of family and friends was held on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at Doug's home.
