Edna M. Martinez

Edna Longmire Martinez, age 76, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at her home in Colorado Springs. She was a retired florist and hairdresser. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister-in -law and friend.Edna Mae Longmire was born on January 23, 1939 in San Antonio, Texas to the late Hubert and Isabel (Badillo) Longmire. She attended schools in Texas and graduated from Ursuline Academy there. She married George Martinez on February 21, 1960 in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they raised a family. She was a distant relative of the Wright Brothers. She and her aunts resemble them to this day. She enjoyed traveling, reading and sewing. She especially enjoyed the time that she spent with her wonderful grandchildren. She was a Jehovah's Witness.Edna is survived by her husband, George; her son: Michael (Ann) Martinez; and her daughters: Melissa Long (James Johnston); and Dolores (Scott) Livingston. She has seven granddaughters and four great grandsons. She also has nieces and nephews. Her parents, her daughter, preceded her in death: Michelle Martinez and her sister, Norma Beddingfield.Visitation 5:30PM - 8:30PM, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at The Springs Funeral Services, 3115 E.
